VEDIC YOGA

Pancha Mahapurusha Yoga

"Five Great Personality Yogas"

planetary house dominance · classical five yogas · personality stamp · natural talent

Formation

Five classical Yogas combined — one for Mars, one for Mercury, one for Jupiter, one for Venus, one for Saturn. Each forms when the corresponding planet is in its own sign or exaltation AND simultaneously in a kendra (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th house). Their individual names: Ruchaka (Mars), Bhadra (Mercury), Hamsa (Jupiter), Malavya (Venus), Sasa (Saturn). One alone in a person is a great gift; two is rare, all five mystically rare.

What it produces in life

A person carrying one or more Pancha Mahapurusha Yogas is recognized at the upper level of the corresponding planet's nature. Ruchaka (Mars) — military leader or surgeon; Bhadra (Mercury) — writer or academic; Hamsa (Jupiter) — teacher or philosopher; Malavya (Venus) — artist or aesthete; Sasa (Saturn) — builder or judge. The Yoga carries the "full" expression of the planet; the person lives with a sense of being chosen. Risk: over-identifying with one planet, slowing development in other areas. Classical kings' and great commanders' charts contain at least one Mahapurusha.

⚠ Caution

For the Yoga to activate, the planet must be in its own sign or exaltation — kendra alone isn't enough. Modern reports skip this check.
