Out of Bounds
Sınır Dışı · Beyond declination
Definition
Out of Bounds (OOB) is when a planet exceeds the Sun's maximum declination (about ±23°27'). Astronomically rare; planets usually stay within the bounds of the Sun's orbit but sometimes step outside. Modern astrologer Kt Boehrer (1980s) popularized the technique. An OOB planet carries "rule-breaking" energy — the native acts unusual, rule-defying, brilliant or unsettled in that planet's theme. Examples cited: Steve Jobs' OOB Mars, Albert Einstein's OOB Mercury. Not in classical tradition; entirely modern. Requires astronomical detail — sign position alone isn't enough, the planet's actual declination must be checked.
In practice
If a planet is OOB, expect the planet's "unusual" expression in the native. Often a line between talent and eccentricity. Out of Bounds Mars: uncontrolled courage. OOB Mercury: unconventional intelligence. OOB Venus: unconventional love.
