Layout structure
The most classic tarot spread. 10 cards in specific positions: 1) situation, 2) obstacle/support, 3) conscious, 4) unconscious, 5) recent past, 6) near future, 7) you, 8) environment/influences, 9) hope/fear, 10) outcome. The relationship between positions is the core of interpretation — not one by one, but how they speak to each other matters.
When to use it
Ideal for complex situations like an important decision, life turning point, in-depth relationship examination, career transition. Takes 30-45 minutes and requires focus. Can be tiring — don't do more than one in a day. Advanced practice spread.
Example reading
Question: "Is it time to end this marriage?" Position 1 (situation): Death. Position 2 (obstacle): The Lovers. Position 10 (outcome): The Star. Briefly: transformation is happening (1), difficulty is fear of severing romantic bond (2), final outcome is hope and renewal (10). Ending is right but you need to grieve.
