Theme

The 5 North series carries political/collective change. Its eclipses accompany regime cracks, revolutionary change, popular movements. The July 11, 1991 eclipse fell just before the USSR's collapse; the July 16, 2009 eclipse during the Arab Spring's buildup. Per Brady, the theme is "great transformation." The energy of this series is high-voltage — instead of individual sheltering, collective direction is needed.
