Mythology

Greek "bear-watcher"; the lead star of the Herdsman who watches the Great Bear. In Polynesian navigation, it's the primary direction star — the Hokule'a canoe found Hawaii by it. Fourth-brightest star in the northern hemisphere.

Astrological reading

Arcturus brings a quality of finding direction, protection, and quiet leadership to a conjunct planet. The native picks up early a way of guiding others — without display, simply through presence. Classical tradition reads it as the "long-game winner" star.
