Achernar

Mythology

At the southern end of the Eridanus (River) constellation; Arabic "akhir an-nahr" — end of the river. In Greek myth, the river where Phaeton fell from the Sun-chariot. Bright in the southern sky; rarely visible to the naked eye from Turkey.

Astrological reading

Achernar adds themes of "reaching the edge" and "going the path to the end" to a conjunct planet. Classical tradition reads it as a fast-rotating, powerful star — natives who go all the way rather than retreat often carry this point activated.
