Mythology
The Ashwins are the Vedic twin riders — celestial healers, heralds of dawn. They arrive with horses, heal the sick, restore youth to the old, then withdraw. The horse-head symbol: speed, the first move, action before anyone else has woken. Ruled by Ketu — the trace from past lives, the "this feels familiar" current of life.
Astrological reading
Moon or ascendant in Ashwini gives a healing current — surfacing not in self but in others. Fast reaction, sudden starts, capacity for first response. Risk: jumping before finishing; opener pattern, not sustainer. Classical tradition reads it as auspicious for doctor, emergency worker, athletic career.
