Great Conjunctions
Büyük Kavuşum · Jupiter-Saturn cycle
What it is
A Great Conjunction is Jupiter and Saturn becoming conjunct every ~20 years. Mundane astrology's most important cycle. Every ~200 years these conjunctions change element — 1980-2020 in the earth element, post-2020 in the air element. The element change is treated as a "great age change"; the December 2020 Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Aquarius marked the beginning of the air-element era. Each Great Conjunction has its own sign-degree and carries themes there for 20 years. Classical tradition read it as the "empire/kingship transformation chart"; modern astrology reads it as "global socio-economic theme."
How to read it
The 20-year period we're in now: 2020-2040 the air-element era, themed around democratization + distributed decision-making + tech-society meeting. The next Great Conjunction is in 2040 in Libra — still in air.
