Meaning
The Lot of Spirit is the opposite of Fortune — if Fortune is "the body's current," Spirit is "the soul's direction." Hellenistic interpretation read it as "the native's God-given direction, the seat of free will." Modern reading: life purpose, vocational calling, the chart of what they want to do in the world. While Fortune represents the unearned, Spirit represents the earned — where willed direction goes. Whichever house it falls in is where the native asks "what am I here for." Daimon in Greek means "inner god" — connected to this concept: the inner voice that finds direction.
How to read its placement
Spirit in 10th: lasting direction of career. 1st: identity by own choice. 9th: philosophical/spiritual search. Spirit and Fortune in the same house: a person where what they want to do and what happens to them coincide.
