Essence

The Water element represents emotion, intuition, deep bond, the soul current. The type that feels, contains, takes inside. Astrologically three water signs: Cancer (cardinal — protecting), Scorpio (fixed — deepening), Pisces (mutable — dissolving). Each carries water differently. Strong water: empathic, intuitive, naturally drawn to bond and feeling. Lives life like an ocean current — can't know without feeling, once feeling, carries it to the bone. Healer, therapist, artist, mother figure, mystic. Absent water: struggles to name feelings, misses others' feelings, may feel physically dry. Astrologically: cold, moist, inward; in modern psychology, "affect."

Shadow

Water excess: emotional flood, no boundaries, carrying others' feelings as your own, waves of depression. Water deficit: emotional blindness, feeling "I don't feel anything," distance in relationships.

Bringing back to balance

Excess water: contact with land (walking, garden), regular routines, practicing emotional limits. Deficient water: listening to music, art, therapy, permission to cry.
