Mythology

A wild centaur. Tried to assault Heracles' wife Deianira while ferrying her; killed by Heracles' poisoned arrows. Dying, he gave Deianira his bloodied tunic "to keep your husband faithful" — a trick. The tunic burned Heracles' skin and finally killed him. The myth: an abuser extends his reach beyond death; revenge burns three generations.

Astrological reading

Nessus marks dynamics of power, control, and abuse — perpetrated, received, or witnessed. Conjunct planets carry the responsibility "let the cycle end here." Even if the native isn't personally a victim, they may be the one to break the family/ancestral chain.

Gift

Not flinching from accountability; ability to open a once-taboo conversation in clean language. Capacity to carry therapist, advocate, trauma specialist, judge roles.

Shadow

Freezing in victim identity; or flipping roles and entering an abuser pattern. A third dangerous pattern: pretending nothing happened and passing the cycle to the child.
